Here, I am living in a luxury house and living a high standard of life. But I guess not anymore, I am moving out and going into an apartment. I checked out the apartment and It smells horrible the people are poor and i believe they are uneducated as well. Its unbelievable that I was going to move into a place like this.
Why did that happen to you. It seems that you feel you are better than the people living there.
Perhaps you need to take steps to ensure that you can soon move into a better situation.
I recently ran into some hard times this month and will be ten days (exactly) late on my rent this month and I’m cant stop thinking if i could be evicted for that? For instance what if they send me a pay or quit notice between those ten days that i don’t have the money? I have never been late on my rent before and have only been in these apartments for 10 months. Help! I’m a mess any advice you have will be so helpful!
10 days and first time? No biggie. Many leases have the 5 day grace period but you have to pay a late fee.
In most states to evict someone there is a process and they have to give you 30 days. So the landlord loses the rent that was behind and the rent for the next 30 days.
Even if the law is different where you live a landlord is hesitant to evict. For one it is a pain. Secondly if they evict you it costs money. The unit will stand empty and not be making any money while they find a new tenant.
So if you have never been late in 10 months just go talk to them. Everyone in life has hit a bump in the road. So they will just say fine pay 10 days late and you will have to pay the late fee.
Don’t get all stressed.
We’re a couple of students looking for affordable housing within the city of San Francisco. Craigslist.org is great, but we haven’t found much. I’m just looking for other sites that are easy to use and may apply to our demographic (poor, strange college students/artists).
try craigslist.com
My husband and I have been renting an apartment for over a year, but now Im trying to rent another apartment for my mom and my sister, the lease will be under my name, and Ill pay for it. Is this legal? Im not going to get in trouble for having two apartments, right?
It’s not illegal, but you need to be clear with the second landlord that mom/sis are living in the apartment and you aren’t. They may need to be on the lease. (People not on the lease are considered guests or trespassers and guests are usually limited to 2 weeks stays.)
I live in Nassau County, Long Island NY and I commute every day to Manhattan for work. I need to find a cheap 2 bedroom apartment that would be 20 min or less from the city. I am a smoker and have 2 dogs (med and small sized) that I rescued while I was in college. I am willing to look in NJ, CT, etc. What are the best places to look?( papers, sites, towns, ….)
Personally, I have had very bad luck with craigslist.com. Increasingly, con artists are using it as a tool to defraud people and craigslist.com doesn’t police it very well. It ranges from referring to an apartment on West 120th Street or higher as the Upper West Side when it’s Harlem, to flatly planning to con people into sending money overseas for apartments that don’t exist. I have heard that people looking for roommates can have good success there though.
Now, if you will tell me what your definition of "cheap" is and whether or not the two bedroom is really a must (can it be a one or a large studio, or do you have someone else you need to occupy the space with?), I will much better be able to tell you where to look in terms of both parts of the city and listings.
I have searched and searched apartment listings for the Highland area in Denver so that I can find a place to move in March from New Orleans and the only way apartments are listed are by city. I KNOW they are in Denver. But I need to know which ones are in Highland. Please. Can you give me a list of some?
Try the site below. Better to use their help than to just have a listing of complexes.
My husband and I live in an apartment with mold and we can not get the rental company to take care of the issue they avoid all phone calls from us and they enter our place without permission.
First off, do NOT follow the offered advice from Kemperk. That is NOT the law ‘across the United States’. Many states have no legal provisions for ‘repair and deduct’, and my state happens to be one of those. In some states, such repairs will end up being the FULL financial responsibility of the tenant if that advice is followed.
Next, are you certain that you have a harmful type of mold present? Most molds are NOT harmful, even though some are. If you are dealing with simple mildew, perhaps in a bathroom area, that is simply a tenant cleaning/maintenance issue. Water and chlorine bleach eliminates mildew.
Contact your local health department for guidance relative to the mold issue. They will send someone to determine whether or not you have a harmful form of mold, and will guide you further with landlord relations if the mold DOES happen to be one of those nasty types.

I’ve been looking for apartments on craig’s list and I find these beautiful 3 bedroom or 4 bedroom apartments in NYC for $1000 or less. What is the catch.
Most of them are scams, there is no apartment. Some "I am out of the country, please pay deposit for key to view" BS.
Orr, as otherwise suggested, that is your portion of the rent, rent for a 4 bedroom will be closer to 5k a month.
