My fiance and I are looking into renting an apartment. The rent is $650/month without hydro. What does this mean? What are we getting included and what do we have to pay for seperately? How much would hydro be for a 2 bedroom apartment for 2 people in a small town?
Some apartment buildings have their hydro monitored separately by apt. so they can pass the cost on to the tenant.
What that means is you will be paying your rent plus what ever hydro (electricity) you use.
They probably don’t include other utilities either, read it carefully, they may charge your for water, gas, cable etc on top of your rent.

hydro means water and that can cost about $ 40-100 for your size

Hydro does not mean water in this case. It is electricity that is created by a Hydro electric generator in a dam. You will have to pay your own power bill.

You will need your own account with the hydro company. Usually the cost of heating the apartment and hot water is not included on the tenant’s hydro bill. In Ontario for two people in a two bedroom apartment you are looking at about $40 a month. This depends of course whether you plan on using an A/C, and how much you use the oven.
