Brookline is a town which borders Boston and Newton, and has a population of just under 60,000 residents.
The Country Club, an exclusive sporting club, was the first private club in the United States formed exclusively for outdoor activities. It is most famous as a golf club, and has hosted the US Open three times, and the Ryder Cup Matches once.
Larz Anderson Park is located on a 64 acre estate once owned by Larz Anderson and Isabel Weld Perkins. The park contains the Larz Anderson Auto Museum, the oldest automobile collection in the United States, as well as a one room schoolhouse dating back to Colonial times.
Even though Brookline is very close to Boston, it has managed to maintain its own identity. Brookline maintains a unique mixture of urban and suburban living, upscale shops and recreational parks, large apartment buildings, quaint brownstones and large estates.
