I need to find a 1 bedroom apartment ideal for graduate college housing, and am having a very hard time finding websites with apartment listings in Dubuque, IA. I would like to see off-campus apartments. Can someone help me? The best I’ve found so far is craigslist and this is very sparse…
Please don’t criticize. I have been googling this for hours. Look at the results, they are very sparse. I’m asking this question to see if someone actually knows something. That’s what Yahoo! Answers is for.

Look at the links you posted. Either there are no results or the listings are for seniors (55 and over).

I have been getting conflicting answers. Some say it’s just a studio, some say a one bedroom apartments, others say a studio with a partition for a bedroom….

I was just wondering what it was, and with me living in LA if it would mean something different here.

It usually seems to mean a studio or sub-studio (not a full kitchen?), but I wouldn’t be surprised if people used it for a range of apartment types. If you’re interested in something described as a "single", I’d call the landlord to clarify exactly what the setup is, and if you’re looking for a true 1BR, I’d put anything that doesn’t mention an actual bedroom low on your list.

I bet if you call or visit westside rentals you can get a salesperson to give you their (more professional) answer.

If you’re not looking for anything super-unusual, you could try my tactic: I just wander around neighborhoods I like looking for For Rent/Vacancy signs and calling all the ones that look promising. Location’s so important, and it’s gratifying to see and hear and smell the neighborhood, and sometimes I find places that aren’t in my online listings.

L.A. can be pretty overwhelming especially if you’re new here, but the city’s got something for everyone–Good luck with your search!

I wish to remain in my area in Chicago and I check listings on line but there are never any listed for my area. I check newspapers but get no results. I don’t have to move immediately but I don’t know any other means of searching other than the usual on line listings or newspaper ads.
