What apartments can my boyfriend get into?

Posted by admin on May 4th, 2010 and filed under apartments | 3 Comments »

Me and my boyfriend have been together for a year and decided to move out with eachother. We never thought it’d be this hard, considering he is a felon. Is there any apartments in the Vancouver, Washington area that you know of will let him rent there. He is a good man trying to change his life around but no one is giving him that chance.

You may also want to look into private party rentals. I know someone with a rental property in that area who may be willing to give you a shot with a large downpayment, lots of rules, and at least $1500/month rent.

Remember, a lot of it comes down to $$$$ and first impression. If he owns up to the errors of his ways upfront and offers a ton of money to a private owner, he’s more likely to get approved. If he shows up with prison tats, a pit bull on a chain, a bad attitude, and a "you owe me this" attitude, no one is going to take the chance.

How do I apply for all the new apartments popping up in Downtown Los Angeles?

Posted by admin on April 30th, 2010 and filed under apartments | 3 Comments »

I work in Downtown Los Angeles financial district and I’ve notice how all these Luxury Apartments or New Housing Complexes currently being built all over the area. I haven’t notice any advertising for these apartments, but is there an overall website or resource for people interested in renting/leasing these apartments or lofts by the time they are done being built?

The best thing to do is to google the address or the apartment name. There are likely different companies building, selling or renting the units. Usually they will start talking to prospective renters/buyers before the units are finished, sometimes they have finished units you can look at, or at least the plans on a website.

There are also quite a few new units in Pasadena right near Gold Line metro stops.

    Good luck!

A Tiny Apartment Transforms into 24 Rooms

In Hong Kong, because of the space, apartments are small and expensive. Gary Chang, an architect, decided to design a 344 sq. ft. apartment to be able to change into 24 different designs, all by just sliding panels and walls. He calls this the “Domestic Transformer.”

This video is not owned by me and I do not take any right of it.

Any apartments in/ around the Orlando, Florida area that do not have breed restrictions?

Posted by admin on April 28th, 2010 and filed under apartments | 3 Comments »

I am moving from the Gainesville area to the Orlando area. I’m looking for apartments that allow pit bulls or do not have breed restrictions. My apartment in Gainesville allows these dogs and does not have restrictions, so I know there are places that still exist that allow these dogs. I just have to find them.
I am looking for people who live in the area who already know of places. NOT people who have to do research.

We would all have to do the same research you’re going to have to do. Google is your friend, not Y&A for this.

What is a good place or website to find apartments based on my income?

Rent.com or Realtor.com both have rental listings. You can also look in the local paper.

What are some good questions to ask a potential landlord when viewing apartments?

Posted by admin on April 24th, 2010 and filed under apartments | 5 Comments »

I’m touring apartments this month- what sort of questions are good to ask landlords while you tour the apartment?

What amenities are included in the rent? Water, hot water, garbage service, parking, etc. Ask, don’t assume.

Ask what their policy is dealing with repairs and issues with neighbors. Ask if there are house rules and ask what those are.

Do they change the locks between tenants

Will they do a move in inspection with you and document items that are damaged so you aren’t charged for them on the way out (and if your landlord doesn’t do that, you do it and send them a copy within 2 weeks of moving in documenting everything you discovered, dent in appliance, missing or damaged screen, light fixture that doesn’t work, etc.)
