All my home decor …
All my home decor and art comes from Marshall’s or Ross. Bedding is from Walmart or Target. Big furniture is always from the small family owned stores in the ghetto (sorry). My home looks like I spent a million dollars on it, and I hardly spent anything and it looks GOOD !

some of my decor on …
some of my decor on the cheap: I bought a book w/ these cool black & white photos in it of flowers, france, etc.. at the thrift store along w/ diff size frames that I painted black- total cost for awesome wall art arrangement: $5
I find EVERYTHING at the thrift store- I found this vintage black petti coat & I guess nobody would buy it cuz it had these hideous big, gold buttons so I found some I loved & replaced them. total cost : $3
you can have almost ANYTHING for nothing if you get creative!

Get several yards …
Get several yards of whatever fabric you want from a craft store. Turn them into drapes just by well… draping! No sewing required. A window treatment can *really* change the way a room looks and make it look more put together with very little cost.

Also, yard sales …
Also, yard sales are awesome if you want something “new”. I bought 6 chairs and a table for a very low price, my friend didn’t understand why I would by them because the color was awful. I painted them white and added some details on the chair, now they fit perfectly in our dining room.

For the bathroom ( or other rooms it you want or can but it would be a mush bigger change), Do all the big things in white or light colors, so that you can easily change the whole room by switching between different colored details.

I had my canopy bed …
I had my canopy bed, matching dresser, and night table FOREVER! but the drawers were so small, that I couldn’t fit my adult clothes in them, and in turn my closet was stuffed to the gills! I like the idea of using kids furniture if you are trying to be more whimsical, but at the same time, be careful to pick something that will work for YOU, and isn’t just gorgeous. GOOD LUCK!

hey Meghan
I noticed that all your walls are white. Try painting one of them a bold color. Since you have a dark floor and some wood accents, an ox blood red or a burnt sienna type color would do wonders to make your home more warm and ‘lived in’. Also try and buy a non-matte paint, a light gloss in paint makes makes it more hilton chic rather than backstreet motel. Fixing up your lighting would also do wonders, for your room and the way you look in it

The most bang for …
The most bang for the buck is always Paint. If you are renting and the landlord does not allow paint, hang large painted objects that cover a large portion of the wall. White walls SCREAM generic apartment. Wallpapers are coming back as well as hundreds of paint treatments. You can fabric walls as well. I love to apply foam and than fabric.

What my family has …
What my family has done is that we ask around. Lots of times family and friends will have old well constructed furniture that all you have to do is get it reupholstered and it’s just like brand new! And if you happen to live near a fashion district (like downtown L.A.) it’s waay cheaper to buy the fabric yourself.

Also, try reapholstery, I am not a professional but you’ll be amazed with what Fabric and a stapler can do. French corkboards, painted headboards…so much stuff <3 your videos. Thank you.
